Cost of Attendance for the 2005-2006 Academic Year

The most significant cost associated with your education is tuition and fees; however, you should also consider the various other expenses you will incur. Cost of Attendance (COA) is a financial aid term that refers to all of the expected allowable expenses for the period of your enrollment. The costs shown below represent moderate, but reasonable living expenses for the New Orleans area. These costs are adjusted annually to reflect the rate of inflation and are consistent with federal guidelines. Local transportation, normal automobile maintenance expenses and parking are included, but an allowance for car payments is not.

The following is a sample COA for a student enrolled in 30 credit hours for 2005-2006 academic year (based on an average enrollment of 15 credit hours in fall and spring). This budget allows for 9 months of living expenses.

Tuition/Fees: - $24,726
Room/Board: - $  9,362*
Books: - $  1,200
Travel: - $  2,576
Miscellaneous: - $  2,908**
TOTAL - $40,772

Note: If applicable, front-end loan fees charged by your student loan lender and/or guarantor are calculated and added to your cost of attendance.

Students at the Tulane University SPHTM are charged for tuition (and some fees) based on each enrolled credit hour. Below is a chart that you can use to determine your tuition and fees for varying hours of enrollment.
